Picture of dogs

No hanky panky, this is actually how the dogs sleep sometimes when there isn't enough room on the couch. This was taken Christmas morning.

  2. thanks
That is the best thing that has happened to me all week. I L-o-v-e to see animals who obviously are having a primo home life, especially with eachother.

  3. Which one is Keiko and which is Orson, might I inquire?

  4. Keiko is the one on top. The one that is my user pic right now. Oddly enough she can't stand to have anything on top of her or even near her when she sleeps. I guess under is OK. Orson is the one on the bottom. He thinks he is a small dog and likes to get on your lap.

what breed are they? I have a pound puppy that I thought was a boxer mix but looks very much like them (except he has four white socks).

  6. Yes, they are boxer mixes. Keiko the one on top is part chow or sharpei and boxer. Orson the one on bottom is part boxer and part something else. We don't know.

Oh, that's funny. I thought you were referring to the "pound puppies" craze of the eighties. Remember the stuffed animals that if you didn't collect them they would remain in the "pound". And I thought, oh she has a "pound puppy" that is similar to my dogs, but clearly now I see that you have an actual dog.
Keiko (the one on top) is from the pound as well. She was the only one that didn't bark. When I went up to the cage she put her paws on the other side and wagged her tail. How could I say no.
Orson was an animal research dog at the Hosptial that I used to work. I learned that they adopted out rather than killing them and that they had beagles. I thought, how great is that...save a beagle. When I went in they said that the beagles weren't "done" and how about this dog. Take him home for a tryout. "Well, he's bigger than I was looking for, but all right." Animal research dogs turn out to be really needy to the point that makes you want to cry. He would follow me within a foot wherever I went. Of course, how could I say no. He still is a little needy. He won't eat unless we are both home. When he does eat, he takes a couple of bites and then comes in to check that we are both still there. He has gotten a lot better though.
